Insurance in Maryland

INSURANCE. IT'S MORE THAN PROTECTION. IT'S A REQUIREMENT.

To drive legally in Maryland, you need more than a valid driver's license. Maryland law requires that you must have car insurance that provides the minimum state requirements - as well as any other coverage required by your lender, if you have a loan on your car.

Auto insurance protects you against financial loss from accidents, including damage to your car or other vehicles and bodily injury to you or others.

The Maryland Insurance Administration offers comprehensive auto insurance resources on their website, including a Consumer Guide to Auto Insurance, rate comparisons, tips for shopping for auto insurance, and videos with tips and frequently asked questions.

MARYLAND AUTO INSURANCE

The State of Maryland created the Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund (Maryland Auto) to provide automobile liability insurance to Maryland residents who are unable to obtain coverage from standard carriers.

Maryland Auto will cover Marylanders who have been turned down or cancelled by other insurers. FineFix participants are automatically eligible for coverage with Maryland Auto Insurance. So once you enroll and pay your previous uninsured auto fines, Maryland Auto can help you get insured and avoid future fines.
